A Reprint of “Viewpoint” Editorial from PDR Magazine’s November Issue

As the year winds down, this is a good time to look back on the year, both personally and in the business sense.

In business, the mission of Paint & Decorating Retailers Association is to educate and support the independent paint and decorating retailer. Let’s see what we accomplished this year.

Paint & Decorating Retailer magazine went online.

√ Paint & Decorating Retailers Association introduced its own app, which includes helpful tools for paint store owners and PDRA members. Paint & Decorating Retailer magazine is also on the app for retailers and buyers on the go.

√ Paint & Decorating Retailers Association held a series of successful webinars designed to educate dealers.

√ Paint & Decorating Retailers Association started a Linked In Group for paint store owners.

Paint & Decorating Retailer magazine introduced the “Retailer to Retailer” section in January 2012, with articles focused on retailers giving suggestions and advice to their peers like only a fellow retailer can.

√ The new online PDRA Customer Service program was introduced. The Customer Service program is designed for paint store owners who are looking to improve the service component of their staff.

Yes, it’s been a very successful year for PDRA and its goal of educating dealers. You owe it to yourself to take advantage of all these wonderful programs.

Thanks to the PDRA board, staff, education sponsors and the PDRA Advisory Committee for making all of this possible.

Thanks to you for reading Paint & Decorating Retailer magazine and for being part of the industry.

Thanks to all the advertisers of Paint & Decorating Retailer magazine. As you can see, the money you invest in the magazine not only helps you get exposure and results, but it goes right back into the industry to help it thrive now and in the future.

Thanks to my wife, Deb, who puts up with my road trips. See you on the road. Stay fired up!
